Born on 11th May 1939 at Thooval Savariarpattanam, Ramnad District
in Tamil Nadu Rev. Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. specialized in Business Administration
from St.Louis University, St. Louis, U.S.A. He has made significant contribution
as founder of Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) developed the institution
from 53rd position to 9th at national level during his leadership. The institution
extends its resources to all aspiring business administrators at various levels.
After the valuable contribution to LIBA, Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. extended his service
to Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) as director where his untiring, creative
and skillful leadership elevated the standard of the institution to 6th position
at national level.
Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. was a vibrant contributor in revising the administration
of Loyola College, Chennai, during his various responsibilities such as vice principal,
Rector and Principal between 1977 and 1986. During this period, new post-graduate
courses in Statistics, Physics and Zoology were started. Special courses in Journalism,
Tourism, Communication, Art Appreciation, Photography, Soil Zoology and Computer
Science were started as additional or optional disciplines. An important event to
be mentioned was the opening of the Entomology Research Institute (ERI) under the
auspices of the central government. Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. as principal, made
the almost impossible as possible when introduced co-education in his period. Remarkably
LIBA (Loyola institute of Business Administration) was started at this period and
was declared by a central government commission, the best of its kind in Tamil Nadu.
Over all Loyola College, Chennai experienced a fine face lift during his period.
As an educationist, Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. has been associated with teaching marketing
to the students for the past three decades in various institutions: XLRI Jamshedpur,
St.Louis University Missouri and Wheeling Jesuit College Bhubaneswar. He was the
founder director of LIBA and principal of Loyola College, Chennai. He was also director
of XIM Bhubaneswar. A member of the American Marketing Association and a PhD from
St.Louis University Missouri, Dr. Fr. Casimir Raj S.J. is widely regarded as an
authority in marketing with numerous publications to his credit.
